Our History

The Reno Jazz Orchestra is a 17-piece contemporary big band in Northern Nevada. The Orchestra was formed in 1997; its musicians have backed legends like Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., and Elvis Presley, touring globally with iconic performers.

Our Vision

Both the RJO and the RYJO strive to inspire, entertain, and unite audiences through the sheer joy and artistry of big band jazz. Our aim is to deliver inspired, world-class jazz performances that both honor the genre's rich history and embrace contemporary sounds.

Our Mission

We aim to unleash your passion for jazz in Northern Nevada! The Reno Jazz Orchestra delivers unforgettable concerts, showcases the incredible talent of our musicians through diverse performances, and ignites a love for jazz music through our education programs.
